Do not count tea, coffee, fruit juice, cordial, energy drinks or smoothies. If you are like me until recently, the answer is ZERO! Drinking water can actually help you get a flat stomach.
A few months ago, an angel spoke to me in the guise of a personal trainer. I was pounding the treadmill at my local gym, drinking an "energy" drink, thinking I was really getting closer to my goal - get a flat stomach and a toned, healthy body. She tapped me on the shoulder and whispered a closely guarded secret. Would you like to learn a closely guarded secret from a Personal Trainer...........?
"Drink water". I nearly fell off the treadmill. How could such a simple solution have been under my nose for so long? "But I do drink lots", I argued.
The reply; "drink water, just water".
What did I have to lose? Nothing! What did I have to gain? A secret is merely a piece of information that you just don't yet know - now I had learned something new and I was closer to my goal - get a flat stomach.
The real secret is to drink water regularly and consistently. Ironically, drinking water can help prevent fluid retention and flush out toxins. Caffeine, tea, coffee and alcohol can actually dehydrate your body. A dehydrated body can make you look older.
Drinking water and getting fit can make you look younger and increase your energy levels. A toned body and a flat stomach improves posture and makes your clothes fit better. You could finally wear those skinny jeans lurking at the back of the wardrobe.
The ideal daily intake of water is about 8 glasses or 2 litres a day. There are lots of ways to make drinking water easier. Try warming it up, keep a bottle on your desk or in your bag and sip it throughout the day, add a drop of fruit juice to give it some flavour. Your mind is the only obstacle to you learning how to get a flat stomach.
